O Corinthians promove nesta terça-feira, às 15h30, algo que tem lhe rendido bons frutos em seu passado recente: um treino aberto aos torcedores às vésperas de uma partida decisiva. De olho no jogo contra o Flamengo, valendo vaga na final da Copa do Brasil, a equipe do técnico Jair Ventura treinará com o apoio de quase 40 mil torcedores na arena de Itaquera.

Desde a temporada passada, quando faturou o Campeonato Paulista e o Campeonato Brasileiro, o Corinthians tem adotado essa prática. Com o apoio da Fiel em datas que antecedem as partidas mais importantes do clube nas competições que disputa, o time demonstrou força em campo e conseguiu resultados expressivos.

Foi assim contra o Palmeiras, na primeira fase do Paulistão do ano passado, quando a equipe de Fábio Carille lidava com a descrença da opinião pública e, antes do clássico, abriu os portões de Itaquera. Em campo, o time captou os pedidos dos torcedores e venceu, por 1 a 0.

No estadual deste ano, o fato se repetiu. Depois de perder, em casa, para seu maior rival na decisão do Paulista, o elenco alvinegro foi recebido nos braços de sua torcida em seu último treino antes do jogo decisivo e, mesmo jogando no Allianz Parque, levou o bicampeonato para o Parque São Jorge.

Nesta tarde, não será diferente. De acordo com as informações cedidas pelo Corinthians, todos os 38 mil ingressos disponíveis para o treino antes do jogo contra o Flamengo já foram trocados por um quilo de alimento não perecível. A Fiel, mais uma vez, dará uma mostra de sua força.

– Sempre é bom ter esse apoio porque a atmosfera é sensacional e a energia que eles transmitem é muito positiva. Além disso, não é comum os treinos serem abertos e os torcedores conseguem ver um pouco do nosso dia a dia e isso acaba aproximando mais o elenco da torcida – explicou o meio-campista Jadson, o artilheiro do time nesta temporada, com 13 gols, e vice-artilheiro de toda a história da Arena Corinthians (23 gols) ao LANCE!

Depois de empatar sem gols no Maracanã, o Timão joga por qualquer vitória para avançar na Copa do Brasil. Em caso de um novo empate, independentemente da quantidade de gols, o finalista será decidido após a cobrança de pênaltis na Arena Corinthians.

He has joined the the ICC’s operations department, currently headed by Dave Richardson, who is the governing body’s general manager of cricket. The department also includes Vince van der Bilj, a former Natal and Middlesex fast bowler.Griffth played 14 Tests and nine ODIs between 1996 and 2000. He’s also an experienced administrator. He was cricket operations manager during the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies, and has also been on the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) match referees’ panel. As the ICC’s regional referee, he was involved in several development events such as the World Cricket League Division One and the World Twenty20 Qualifier.”It is indeed a great honour for me to be working with the International Cricket Council in the role of Umpires and Referees Administration Manager,” Griffith said. “I am hoping that my experience, both as a player and match official, will come in handy during my stint.”

وقال سليمان وهدان في تصريحات تلفزيوينة عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورتس”: “أقدم الاعتذار لجمهور الزمالك على هذه النتيجة، لكن مشاعرنا لن تؤثر في هذه المرحلة ولا بد من قرارات، وننتظر المستشار مرتضى منصور لإصدار قرارات مهمة”.

وأضاف: “لاعبو الزمالك أدوا بشكل جيد، لكن التغييرات كان لها أثر سلبي، (مش هنعلق الأخطاء على شماعات) هزيمة الفريق على ملعبنا في البداية كانت لها اثر سلبي، ومباراة اليوم كنا نستحق ركلة جزاء”.

وأوضح: “من يتحمل خروج الزمالك؟ لن نتعامل بالقطعة، حدثت أخطاء في المرحلة الماضية، وكان هناك تخاذل خلال مباراة القاهرة، والتعادل السلبي مع المريخ، نحتاج لمراجعة المشاكل في الفترة الماضية، لدينا مشاكل مالية وإدارية ورئيس النادي (محبوس)”.

وأكمل: “أكرر اعتذاري لجماهير الزمالك، نحن نفعل كل ما في وسعنا، لكن للأسف هناك مؤامرات كثيرة من ممدوح عباس من خلال تسريب عقود اللاعبين، بالتأكيد هو صاحب المصلحة وهو اللهو الخفي، من صاحب المصلحة في تسريب العقود غيره”.

واستكمل: “هؤلاء اللاعبون بشر في النهاية ويتأثرون بتلك الأمور، لكن هذه المعركة ليس بها أي نوع من الشرف، ومن يحاسب على كل هذه المؤامرة هو الجمهور”.

هل هناك قرار بشأن الجهاز الفني؟، أجاب: “انا ضد أي قرار انفعالي، لا بد أن يحدث تقييم للموقف، ومع التشاور مع رئيس الزمالك في محبسه سنصدر قرارات خلال أيام قليلة”.

وأردف: “تم تسريب العقود بعد فوز الزمالك على الترجي، لم يتركونا نفرح، هل هذه معركة بها شرف؟، لا أحد ينظر للمصلحة العامة ويؤجل مؤامراته”.

واستطرد: “سنطلب مذكرة من جمال عبد الحميد عضو مجلس الإدارة والمشرف على الكرة، بشأن أسباب الهزيمة أمام شباب بلوزداد والخروج من دوري الأبطال”.

وأتم: “نحتاج إلى وقفة، وعلى الجماهير أن تعلم أننا نعمل في ظرف صعب مليء بالمؤامرات والأزمات، ونحتاج أيضًا لإعادة النظر في بعض الصفقات، والتعاقد مع صفقات جديدة”.

O Vasco está de luto pela morte do menino Isaque, de 14 anos, cria da base do clube que não resistiu a um câncer ósseo na manhã desta quinta-feira. Já em Brasília para o clássico deste sábado contra o Flamengo, o Cruz-Maltino realizou treinamento e antes do início da atividade, homenageou Isaque com um minuto de silêncio. Representando o grupo, o zagueiro Leandro Castan se emocionou ao comentar sobre o momento e destacou que o Vasco irá se doar em campo mais do que 100% por ele.

– Ficamos meio que sem palavras. Faço questão de deixar os sentimentos para a família. Vamos orar para Deus confortar o coração de todos eles, pois sabemos que a vida é um sopro. É muito triste ver um menino assim tão novo ter seu sonho interrompido, sua vida interrompida. Iremos trabalhar também por ele, pois nós temos a oportunidade de fazer algo que ele não irá conseguir, que é jogar futebol. Temos a responsabilidade de entrar em campo e dar mais do que 100% por ele – afirmou o jogador.

Pouco menos de dois meses depois de ter sido diagnosticado com um câncer ósseo, Isaque, que também teve passagem pelas categorias de base de Flamengo, não resistiu e perdeu a batalha contra a doença. O Vasco, clube em que ele jogava antes de descobrir a doença, postou, em sua conta oficial no Twitter, uma mensagem de forças ao garoto.

No site ofial, o Cruz-Maltino publicou uma nota oficial prestando solidariedade à família.

– Parceiro incansável de Isaque em sua luta pela vida desde que soube do diagnóstico da doença, em julho, o Club está em contato com familiares do menino para oferecer toda e qualquer assistência neste momento tão difícil – diz a nota.

O Flamengo, clube pelo qual o garoto passou antes de se juntar ao Cruz-Maltino em 2017, também publicou uma mensagem desejando forças à família de Isaque.

– Infelizmente, Isaque perdeu essa luta. Descanse em paz, garoto! Que os momentos com o Manto Sagrado tenham sido inesquecíveis. Muita força aos familiares e amigos. Saudações rubro-negras!

After their first win on Thursday following five consecutive losses, Deccan Chargers were back to being what they have been this IPL season – dismal and disappointing. Once again, a decent start proved to be a false dawn. Once again, they had only themselves to blame. On a greenish Wankhede pitch aiding fast bowlers, Chargers allowed Harbhajan Singh figures of 4-0-13-2. They contrived to lose regular wickets, hitting wide balls straight to fielders. And they did not have another bowler remotely in the class of Dale Steyn, who tormented the home batsmen nearly every delivery he bowled.Not that Chargers did not try, initially at least. Their captain Kumar Sangakkara, with 83 runs in five games at a strike-rate of 95.40, sat out the game. Chargers made three more changes. Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv Patel even managed to add 37 by the sixth over, which was not a bad start given the appreciable swing and bounce RP Singh was getting.And then they fell apart. Six wickets went down in the space of 7.3 overs for 29 runs. Parthiv checked his drive to an RP slower delivery but ended up chipping it to mid-on. With Cameron White, JP Duminy and Daniel Christian available, Chargers sent Ishank Jaggi at No. 3. After looking clueless against pace for six deliveries, Jaggi tried to attack Harbhajan and found mid-off. White slashed his first delivery to third man; Christian was to cut his fifth straight to point.In between, Dhawan, having watched his side implode, charged out to Harbhajan, only to be stumped for 29. It was to be the highest score by a Chargers batsman tonight. Harbhajan kept the pressure up, firing some in, tossing many up, and varying his pace.Though Duminy tried to ensure Chargers at least played out their 20 overs, their lower order crumbled against Lasith Malinga by the 19th. It wasn’t an easy pitch to bat on by any means but Chargers needed something truly special from Steyn to even challenge Mumbai Indians.Steyn tried as hard as he could. He knocked back Richard Levi’s stumps first ball of the chase with a pacy outswinger. He could have had Rohit Sharma four times in four deliveries, but the ball beat the outside edge each time. Steyn came back in the ninth over, with a forward short leg to Dinesh Karthik, who immediately nibbled one through to the wicketkeeper.Steyn could have had a third wicket, and Chargers could have still made a match of it, had Amit Mishra not put down a straightforward chance off James Franklin at third man with 36 needed off 44. The scorebook recorded a spell of 4-0-10-2, but it did not reveal the extent of the pressure Steyn created, even in a chase of just 101.Rohit’s luck, though, was to earn him an invaluable 42 runs, and ultimately prove decisive. He was beaten on the drive, he was beaten on the cut, and he was beaten on the defensive push. Inside edges eluded the stumps. An airy push went just over extra cover, a clip just past midwicket. But today, Rohit had more lives than a cat. By the time he finally threw it away, holing out down the ground off Duminy, Mumbai Indians needed only 26 off 36.The home side handed the visitors another chance, when Franklin gloved a hook to the keeper, but Mishra was to again give it away. A wide, a full toss and a short ball in his poor 18th over that went for 14 finally shut the door on Chargers, leaving them with their sixth loss in seven completed games.

For the first time at a post-match presentation this year Andrew Strauss wore a broad grin as England ended a run of four straight Test defeats with a comprehensive eight-wicket victory. It was enough for them to retain the No. 1 ranking, but for Strauss the most important aspect was to have seen his side emerge from a difficult period with important lessons learned.Having fallen apart against spin in the preceding four matches England’s top-order finally offered the team’s outstanding bowling attack support for their efforts. Strauss is confident that the batsmen have made significant strides in playing in subcontinental conditions, which they will encounter again at the end of the year in India.”We’ve been seeing in the nets for a while the guys have been forced to re-look at their games,” he said. “It’s easy to say we’re experienced cricketers and we should have known it earlier but I do think to a certain extent DRS has changed things and we’ve had to look at our techniques, and I think we’ve come through that. Everyone looks better now than they did at the start of the winter.”It’s always a shame when you’ve got to be handed a few defeats to make sure you really do look at it. We’re excited. India’s still a long way off, but we’ve got some good lessons we can put in the bank. Now we’ve got to get back to England and remember how to play swing and seam bowling.”Graeme Swann was the matchwinner over the last couple of days as he secured career-best match figures of 10 for 181, his second ten-wicket haul in Tests, to follow Kevin Pietersen’s scintillating 151 as he threw off the shackles.”I thought James Anderson wasn’t really rewarded for his bowling, he bowled outstandingly well,” Strauss said. “Graeme Swann showed his value to the side once again, creating trouble all the way through. It was an outstanding innings and it gave us the impetus and momentum we needed to win the game.”I think we were all under a bit pressure coming into this game to make sure we showed we’d learned some of the lessons from our defeats over the last four Test matches. It looked like an easy victory but we knew that out in the middle it was very, very hard to prise out wickets and at times it was hard to score runs as well. I saw a steely determination on everyone’s part to make sure we finished the winter on a high and it was fantastic to be able to do that.”The lowest moment of England’s recent run came in the second-innings run chase against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi as they crumbled to 72 chasing 145. When Strauss fell in the first over of this pursuit, bowled by Tillakaratne Dilshan for a duck, it may have opened old wounds but England powered their way to the target.”They’re horrible chases because everyone expects you to win, it’s almost like trying to sink a three-foot putt – you know it should go in but it doesn’t always,” he said. “We were determined to make sure we didn’t make the same mistakes as we did in Abu Dhabi; determined to be a bit more proactive about things and Cooky and KP today did that exceptionally well.”Like his counterpart Mahela Jayawardene, Strauss acknowledged the importance of Swann’s double-wicket over in the dying moments of the fourth day that gave England a much more favourable chance to wrapping up the victory. “The guys were knackered,” he said. “It was a long day and they raised the intensity and the tempo over those ten overs. Sometimes you don’t get what you deserve but on that occasion we did.”Strauss, though, was not getting carried by a single success and a shared series. There remain issues against good spin bowling – Rangana Herath took 19 wickets in the two matches – and the first-innings total of 460 was the only time the batting order clicked in either the UAE or Sri Lanka.”I don’t think any of us are the finished article, you never are in cricket,” he said. “Questions are asked, you find an answer and another question is asked.
